38 Lessons at 38: Rooted in Who I am Becoming

We often have no idea what we are doing. I told a friend today that this has felt like one of the most difficult seasons of my life, even harder than pregnancy and giving birth. Pregnancy came with physical pain, but it also came with a clear outcome. I knew I would eventually meet my daughter.

Learning to be Fully Here

Today, I spent two hours at a local playground with my daughter. She had space to run, explore, and enjoy being outside while I sat nearby with my Rooted in Becoming journal.

Lately, I have been answering the journal questions and then asking ChatGPT to help me deepen my understanding of what I wrote. It has become a fascinating reflection practice. Sometimes we already carry wisdom within us, but we need a mirror to help us recognize it, name it, and understand what it is teaching us.

What Rainbows Are Teaching Me About Growth

Looking back over the past few months, it's incredible to see how much our family has grown together. Some days feel ordinary, but when I pause to reflect, I realize how much has changed. Over the past week, I published two YouTube videos that capture this season of our lives. One shares our adventure at Sea Life Park Hawaiʻi, where Summer experienced seeing fish, sea turtles, and marine life up close while creating another beautiful family memory. The other captures our first Fourth of July in Hawaiʻi at Magic Island, a day that truly made us feel like we are beginning to settle into island life.

As part of my Becoming Aloha journey, I recently searched for the question: What does it mean to live aloha? One perspective that resonated with me came from learning about pono. Pono is often understood as righteousness, balance, and doing what is right, not only for ourselves but for the greater whole. It is about accountability, stewardship, and recognizing that our actions affect the community around us.

Designing an Intentional Week in Hawai‘i

A fulfilling life is often built through small, intentional choices. One Month Into Hawaii

Welcome to Becoming Aloha.

My family and I moved to Hawai’i on April 1, 2026. A month later, after finally settling in a bit, I shared the news publicly on LinkedIn. And I realized something important during this transition: I want to remember this season of life to capture the becoming, uncomfortable and beautiful moments, growth, uncertainty, and everyday lessons shaping who we are becoming as a family. This will be a reflection space about growth mindset, intentional living, motherhood, slowing down, and learning a different way of being.
